I recently encountered an issue when looking at my Snapmatic pictures compared to other peoples' pics and I noticed mine had black bars on the sides, making my pictures smaller and annoying the hell out of me. I did some researching on Google leading to other forums, and it took a while to find what people thought was the problem. I tested their idea and it has worked for me and I'm 99% sure it will work for anyone with the exact same problem.
If you're encountering black bars on the sides of your Snapmatic pictures, it's likely due to the fact that under your console settings you have your Display set to Normal instead of Widescreen.
Here's how to fix this problem on Xbox 360:
1. Go to Xbox Dashboard/Xbox Home.
2. Navigate over to the Settings tab (last far right tab) and select System.
3. Select Console Settings, then select Display, and then select Screen Format.
4. If your current setting is Normal then change it to Widescreen.
5. Load up GTA V, go take a picture, and then look at your picture. There should be no more black bars!
(I don't know how to do this on PS3, but it shouldn't be too different.)
